Multiplying things

First, if you don't read "Voice In the Wilderness", you should read Travis's post from yesterday "Go Forth and Multiply". It's a very interesting look at demographics and politics.

The other thing that's multiplying again is internet hoaxes - more specifically, the one about "Touched By An Angel" and Madeline Murray O'Hare. Will this e-mail ever die?!?!? If you get this petition, do not send it on. That's why God created the 'delete' key. It's a hoax and has been going around for years. Unfortunately, it gets sent to those with conservative values who get all riled up and defensive (which I couldn't blame them for if it was true), so they send it out, therefore unknowingly propogating the hoax. Let it die people. Just let it die.

You claim to be from Dole country. I have to fault your idol for his support of the Dubai ports deal. Turns out Mr Viagra is on the payroll of the UAE.
Sad how this guy was once Senate Majority leader and now he prostitutes himself for a foreign govt. The UAE played footsy with the Taliban, laundered money for Osama and now Bob Dole wants to let them take over mgt of our ports? Be afraid, be very afraid.

I am a single never-married woman. Not that it should matter to you or two anyone else, but I remain virginal. I am also celebrating my 41st birthday at the end of this month.
I would eagerly embrace motherhood and marriage and do my part to "go forth and multiply". You can't imagine how it feels to be my age and not be married. Ive had my fair share of nice Christian men friends. Some have been long term acquaintances and even soul-mates. I dont know why weve never gone on from their, truth to tell.
Yes, we Christians need to contribute to the stream of humanity. Yes, the family is a divinely created institution and not merely a convenient benefits arrangemt for two folks who love ea other.
What irks me to know end is the church's unwillingness to address the many guys out there who cannot or wish not to "grow up" and become husbands/fathers. We in the church have a lot of boys in love with their toys. My own suspicion is that a lot of them may be closeted gay or else they know they can easily "get sex" on the side without having to embrace marriage and long term commitmt. Its a sad plight for gals like me. The mission field or some type of nonprofit work abroad has great appeal right now.
When I am most angered and hurt is on Mother's Day at church. The pastor always asks for "all the moms" to stand. Then they recognize the newest mom and the oldest mom among the congregation with a bouquet of flowers.
I understand that the sacrament of marriage is or once was heavily stressed in churches. We need to get back to that teaching.
