Life is meant to have color, variety, goodness and adventure. And no Kansas is not really in black and white, or sepia-tone, which is what was actually used in the movie. This is pretty much life seen through my eyes and my Judeo-Christian worldview.

You seem to be a competent and clear writer and I have enjoyed reading your recent pieces. Dont ever let up!! Meanwhile.. My nephew-- like you at one time in the past (from reading your biog)-- seems to feel he "needs" a master's degree. He's vague on the why of this need. Maybe you can help me/him out. Is there that much a pay hike difference between a BA in journalism advertising and a MA or MS in advertising journalism?? (I suspect most of the money lies in owning media a la Rupert Murdock, etc) Why did you at one time see an advantage in masters degree as opposed to just getting in the journalistic trenches with only a baccalaureate degree. Hemingway didnt need a Master's and quite evidently neither do you? Does a Masters in Jouralism pay off dividends in the long term?
I know with a lot of fields there's a lot of difference between the baccalaureate and the master's level degree. But do you think your writing would sparkle anymore with an MA in journalism? I think those who advocate a masters in many majors are merely out to hoodwink and dupe young folks, IMHO. My nephew will graduate with debt and no real job market advantages as far as I can tell. Maybe you know better. Please share
